Kiama High School is an ET4l school. You will need to add @detnsw after your username when connecting to the internet.

Username: john.smith1@detnsw

Students will also need to log into the Edge Portal on their device each day to access non DoE websites detnsw.net


Below are device specfic instructions on how to connect to the internet.

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi symbol in the menu bar


  2. Select detnsw Wi-Fi from the drop down menu


  3. Type in your use name e.g. "john.smith1@detnsw"


  4. Type in your password


  5. Tick "Remember this network"


  6. Click "Join"

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi symbol in the menu bar


  2. Click the drop down menu to see available networks


  3. Select detnsw Wi-Fi from the drop down menu


  4. Change EAP Method to "PEAP"


  5. Change EAP phase 2 authentication to "MSCHAPv2"


  6. Change Server CA certificate to "do not check"


  7. Type in your username under identity e.g. "john.smith1@detnsw"


  8. Type in your Password


  9. Leave Anonymous identity blank


  10. Tick Save identity and password


  11. Click Connect

  1. Open your Wi-Fi settings


  2. Select detnsw Wi-Fi from the list of networks


  3. Change EAP Method to "PEAP"


  4. Change EAP phase 2 authentication to "MSCHAPv2"


  5. Change Server CA certificate to "Do not validate"


  6. Type in your username under identity e.g. "john.smith1@detnsw"


  7. Leave Anonymous identity blank


  8. Type in your password


  9. Click Connect

Edge Portal

Kiama High School is an internet@edge school. This means that students will need to login to the Edge Portal each day before using the internet on their BYOD.

Login using your student username followed by "@detnsw" and your password.
