I strongly believe that as educators we have the responsibility of preparing our young people for their future beyond school. It is indeed a privilege to have this opportunity and we understand that it is essential to teach skills needed for the future in a world characterised by fast paced innovation and change.
Kiama High School is a welcoming, caring school situated in a vibrant supportive community. We acknowledge our school is located on Dharawal Country and its traditional custodians who are the Wadi Wadi people.
While maintaining a clear focus on teaching and learning we are mindful that it is important to develop and nurture every child’s self-awareness — their heart and soul — through exemplary wellbeing initiatives. We recognise the importance of working with our parents, carers and other agencies to ensure the best possible outcome for our young people, our future. Parents are encouraged to contribute to the school by being part of the Parents and Citizens Association or through volunteering to assist in the canteen.
We take pride in our sporting achievements, cultural opportunities, student leadership, community service and other programs. Such opportunities are offered by a staff committed to supporting Kiama High School. They are passionate about their own practice and ongoing professional learning to ensure that in all areas we strive for excellence.
